Characteristics: Deciduous shrub 2-3 m tall. Branches with dark gray bark, the young ones yellowish-green. Leaves opposite, ovate-elliptic, longer than wide (6-12 × 4-8 cm), soft and dull green. Inflorescence pendulous, with 5-10 (15) flowers less than 1 cm, with 5 greenish-yellow petals. Fruit a fleshy capsule, with 5 sharp, winged lobes, reddish when ripe. Seeds ellipsoidal, completely enclosed by an orange membrane.
Observations: Similar in appearance to Euonymus europaeus L. This species reaches a greater height (up to 5 m), its leaves are narrower (2-3 cm wide), and its flowers and fruits are tetramerous
