Characteristics: Perennial herb, slightly woody at the base, with erect stems (up to 80 cm) that are sticky in the upper part. Leaves mostly in a basal rosette, spatulate in shape. Flowers unisexual, small and inconspicuous, borne on a long flowering stem and grouped in verticillasters—numerous in male individuals, sparse in female ones. Calyx glabrous, with 10 veins; corolla with very small or sometimes absent petals, greenish-yellow in colour. Fruit an ovoid capsule
