Characteristics: A small plant with normally an erect growth; ashy grey on account of the long and silky hairs that cover the entire plant. Forms clusters of flowers on the upper part of the bifurcations of the stem. Can be mistaken for F. pyramidata in which the former differs mainly in that the leaves are most wide at the inferiour half of the leaf, the margin is ondulate and the apex is more or less acute; additionally the glomules (or clusters) may have more than 50 capitula (maximum is 30 for F. pyramidata ).
