Description: This small evergreen tree can reach up to 9m in height, although it does not usually grow above 4m. It has a short, reddish-brown trunk which sometimes forms branches at a low height. The leaves are more like coriaceous, bluish-green phyllodes which are 8-25 cm long and 0.3-5cm wide. They are linear to lanceolate, with a prominent central vein. The glomerules are in the shape of racemes. The flowers are yellow. The pod is slightly curved and squeezed between the seeds.
Observations: It is tolerant to acidity; it is a thermophile and can grow in calcareous or siliceous soils.
