Characteristics: Rhodedendron subshrub formations, black pine Pinus uncinata pineries and rocky places. The leaves are ovate, entire and coriaceous, glabrescent on the leaf face and densely pubescent on the reverse. The young leaves are usually folded over the central nerve. The flowers are disposed in groups of 1-3, are pink in colour, with tips hanging. The fruit is reflex, fleshy, glabrous, shiny and red in colour.
