Characteristics: More or less dense pastures, rock fissures and outcrops, forest clearings, moors, etc. A perennial herb with basal leaves ovate-cordate, the caulines are more narrow (linear-lanceolate). The inflorescence is lax and pauciflora. Differs from other Campanula by its bell-shaped corolla divided in a maximum up to 1/3 it s length and with the floral buds and pedicels erect before flowering.

Observations: A very polymorphous plant that of which many infraspecific entities have been described.
