Characteristics: Ruderal environments like roadsides, cultivated fields, forest boundaries, pastures, etc. An annual plant that can become fairly tall (up to 1.5 m). Presents simple and lax panicles, green or violet in colour, with the branches much longer than the spikelets. The flowers are ± long awned and the inferior glumulle measures some 14-20 mm.
