Habitats: Rock crevices and cliff faces.

Characteristics: Silicic rocks and walls, although can be found in forests, rocky places or atop of tree stumps. A perennial plant with fronds 2-3 pinnatisect, a bright green and a corresponding black petiole. The sori are located on the frond reverse, are oblong-linear and have a lateral indusium. Can be distinguished from A. onopteris by its narrowly triangular lamina, the petiole slightly longer than the lamina and the pinnules ovate-lanceolate.
