Characteristics: Alpine fields and pastures (generally silicoles), on rocky soils, rock outcrops or fissures. A caespitose plant with a woody trunk. Produces terminal glomerules with pink flowers, borne by peduncles 3-20 cm. Differs from other Armeria by its linear leaves, 2-4 mm in width, and flat and one nerved.
