Habitats: Rock crevices and cliff faces. Rocky surfaces and dry stone walls.

Characteristics: Fissures and rock outcrops, many times on calcareous substrate. An herb with very divided palmate leaves, segments concrescent at the base. The reverse is covered by a golden-silky pilosity. The flowers are laxly disposed. Differs from A. alpigena as it has a completely free medial segment and the others are only slightly concrescent.
