Habitats: Rock crevices and cliff faces. Rocky surfaces and dry stone walls. Rock creviceses. Walls and roofs.
Characteristics: This species grow on shallow substrates, often we find them growing on tile rooftops, dry masonry and rocky crevices. The stem bases are slightly lignified, while the leaves are fleshy and pointed. Flowers are yellow in colour, formed atop of a fertile stem, which bears less foliage than the rest of the plant. The inflorescence opens into various branches, like radii. Differs from the other species of the genus in size. Can be told apart from Sedum album, as it has pointed not obtuse leaves as the latter, and from Sedum dasyphyllum as the former is not hirsute. Flowers at the end of spring and the beginning of summer. Plants of the Pitiusses have been classified as Var. dianium, because the leaves are markedly grater than the usual leaf size of this species.
