Characteristics: A robust herb, with a rhizome short and pilose with erect stems. Leaves are large, very rough to the touch, with a marked enervation and a base runs the length of the stem. The flowers, either violet, white or purple in colour are reunited in terminal scorpoid cymes with a dangling appearance.
