Characteristics: A plant that can develop a trunk up to 1,7 in height. The leaves are narrow, (8-13 cm. in width) and lanceolate (up to 1,8 cm. in length), colour greyish-green, a straight margin with a thickened base. The leaf margin teeth are narrow, dark and widely sparse. The terminal spine is long (up to 2,5 cm.), rigid, dark brown and nondecurrent. The inflorescence is 5 to 6 m. in height with 10-18 ramifications and yellow flowers which are sterile. This species can be confused with A.angustifolia, which is usually smaller, and with leaves more flat and rigid, acannulate.
