Characteristics: A Graminea with a simple and large inflorescence. The spikelets are arranged alternately, one behind the other on each side of the stem. We can differentiate this Lolium form the others by the shape, size and consistency of the glomules. Another characteristic of this plant is the presence of awn, fairly lag and visable with a glance of the eye, the inferior glumule of basal flowers, although this is not a fixed characteristic.
