Habitats: Wild olive trees and other sclerophyllous shrublands. Juniperus phoenicea subsp. turbinata forest. Pine wood and shrubland with rosemary and thyme garigue. Garriques and pine forests.
Characteristics: This is a small bush (up to 35 cm.) well branched and very graceful in appearance but not very apparent when it is not in flower. Characterized by its leaves in position opposite, linear, tightly coiled and with stipules. The internodes take on a yellowish colouration. The flowers are large, delicate, carnary yellow in colour, pendunculate and with the aspect of cigararette paper.
Observations: It's absolutely necessary the use of a classification key to be able to differenciate this species from other very similar looking members of the genus.
