Characteristics: This chard lives only in some small isles of Cabrera and the Pitiüses (Eivissa and Formentera). It is recognised because it forms a greatly branched, woody trunk, and because the leaves are very fleshy and have a completely wavy margin is (when cultivated it can lose these leafy features). Moreover, the fruits are larger than those belonging to the typical subspecies. It is found in the same isles as Medicago citrina forming a fairly particular community. It flowers in spring.
