Characteristics: A very svelte and tall poppy with rose or pink coloured flowers, which are fairly large, up to 10 cm. This subsp. can be distinguished from subspecies somniferum by its bristles or by the large and rigid hairs about the stem and central nerve on the leaf reverse. Additionally, the capsule is smaller and the leaves have awned teeth.
