Characteristics: A fern with leaves to 35 cm in length, and leathery in texture. Lamina is narrowly triangular (2-3 pinnae or divisions) Pinnae are triangular with ecliptic pinnules or egg-shaped (ovate). Sorus is ovate.

Observations: In the Balearic Islands, this plant only lives in Menorca, and is associated with silicic substrates. It can also be found in other small islands in the western Mediterranean. It appears to have originated as a result of a hybridisation between other Asplenium species
