Characteristics: An upright plant, with a basal leaf rosette with also leaves atop of the stems. Leaves are lanceolate, covered with hairs that give it a greyish colour. The capitulum has orange-yellow flowers. The var. tipica is told apart from the var. gymnesica as it is much taller and the flowers are not lemon yellow.
