Characteristics: Ipomoea indica is a plant introduced from the American continent as an ornamental, although it has naturalized to many locations, and prefers the banks of torrents. The lobed leaves and the large and blue flowers petals fused along their entire length (as for all bindweeds) allow sure, positive identification. Ipomoea purpurea is similar in appearance, however its flowers are smaller, and it has entire leaves and is an annual cycle plant.
