Characteristics: This is a typical small fern found in humid crevices and marshes. The leaf is completely divided into small, rounded pinnae. There are other fern species that look like it and which can be mistaken for it, especially Asplenium azomanes, although the latter is much larger and shinier. There are several subspecies described that are difficult to distinguish between.
