Characteristics: An herbaceous plant particular to wet areas, grows upright, more or less a metre above ground, leaves are narrow and lanceolate. The best character for identification are the capitula, with violet ligules and yellow central flowers; in the habitats in which this species is found there are not other composites with these flower colour characteristics.
