Characteristics: A very graceful Graminea with a single panicle, in the form of a spike (10-30 cm.) interrupted at the basal part. Spikeletes detached, of some 7-10 mm. Leaves flat and narrow. Stems have spherical, basal tubercles, an unmistakeable characteristic of this species.
