Characteristics: A well known plant used for its medicinal properties. Resembles a cactus due to its succulent leaves, although it does not belong to this family. Leaves that emerge from the ground form a rosette, are glacous to greyish in colour and remain fairly erect, up to half metre in height; the inflorescence is a spike with yellow flowers.
