Characteristics: A shrub typical of brackish waters, it is characteristic for having fleshy leaves, with linear margins, often with two or three teeth at the tip with. It forms yellow capitula during the summer and in autumn, thus when it is in flower it is unmistakable. Without being in flower it is also easy to identify because of the shape of its leaves: there is no other similar shrub in moist areas.
