Characteristics: Galium belongs to the Rubiaceae family, all of which have leaves grouped at different levels on the stems (verticils). In this case they are more or less climbing herbs which have linear leaves in groups of 6 to 8. The inflorescences are made up of many white flowers The number of species of this genus is quite large, but only Galium lucidum has white flowers and leaves that are narrower than 2 mm with an awn at the tip. It lives in dry grassy roadsides, in slightly moist places. It flowers at the end of spring.
