Characteristics: A rush that forms rhizomes that create lawns that eradiate in a line from the mother plant. It is characterized by its clear to light green colour. The leaves, emerging on top of the stem are cylindrical and fistulous, but not articulated. The inflorescence has its branches directed upwards, and they are fairly elongate. Lives in areas with ponded, still waters, usually saline. Flowers from May to June.
