Habitats: Cultivated fields, path and road sides, disturbed zones. Meso-xerophyll mountain fields. Pine wood and shrubland with rosemary and thyme garigue. Herbaceous communities and open scrub on sandy, disturbed substrates, parasitizing species of the genus Artemisia.
Characteristics: Perennial herb, pubescent-glandular, parasitic, lacking green photosynthetic structures. Stems 20-50 cm, erect, simple, whitish. Leaves numerous, lanceolate, brownish, inconspicuous. Inflorescence 10-20 cm, not very dense, with flowers having a corolla 20-30 mm, erect-patent, widening toward the apex; throat white and lobes purplish, longer than the tube. Anthers with stiff hairs.
