Habitats: Cultivated fields, path and road sides, disturbed zones. Therophytic calicole fields. Roadsides, dryland fields, and annual herbaceous communities, on preferably calcareous subnitrophilous substrates, in not overly dry areas.

Characteristics: Annual herb, 10-30 cm, hairy. Stems erect, usually simple at the base and branched in the apical part. Leaves linear-spatulate, long-petiolate; basal ones regularly and deeply divided into narrow lobes; upper ones smaller, linear. Inflorescence dense, with flowers very crowded. Petals white, the 2 outer ones larger than the 2 inner ones. Fruits about 5 mm, nearly quadrangular, with acute apical lobes, more or less hairy.
