Characteristics: Annual plant up to 10 cm, often reddish, branched from the base, glandular-pubescent on stems and leaves, sticky to the touch. Leaves elliptic and obtuse, 6-15 mm long, with a petiole exceeded by leafy stipules. Flowers solitary, arising among the leaves, with pedicels perpendicular that curve toward the base at fruiting. Inner sepals ovate, with 5 distinct veins; outer sepals half as long as the inner ones, linear. Petals 5, about equal to the calyx, yellow. Seeds tetrahedral.
