Habitats: Oakforest. Quercus pyrenaica oak wood. Open dry shrublands and woodlands, especially holm oak and Pyrenean oak (Quercus pyrenaica) stands, on loose, sandy, siliceous soils with cool conditions.
Characteristics: Low, highly branched shrub with opposite, linear leaves (1-2 mm wide), sticky, with margins curved downward; upper side dark green, back side light green and densely covered with hairs. Flowers arranged in terminal clusters of 2-5. Each flower has 3 sepals covered with glandular hairs and 5 white petals. Fruits are small capsules containing rough-textured seeds.
