Characteristics: A small herbaceous plant, fragile in appearance. Leaves are acicular and lanceolate, margin with needles and these arranged in whorls (5-8). The terminal inflorescence is lax and paniculoide, with longer inferior lateral branches. Flowers are very small whie in colour and scantly pedicelated. Can be distinguished from the G. parisiense as the former species has setaceous leaves and cymes with fewer flowers (3-7) and very pilous fruit.
