Characteristics: A deciduous tree that grows to a good size and with smooth bark that falls off in yellowish patches. Leaves are alternate with 3-8 triangular lobes, entire or serrulate, but not very deep, which sets it apart from P. orientalis. The leaf petioles are long and widened at the base. Often used to line streets as a shade tree.
