Characteristics: An ey slender and erect annual Gramineae. Ramified from the base, forming on each stem either a simple inflorescence or a sole, long and slender terminal spike, from the lower parts until the apex. Spikelets are sessile, with two or more flowers that can outstresch exceed the glumes and are arranged in two opposite lines. The floral awns are very evident along the entire length of the spike.
