Characteristics: Especially in calicole marshlands, more rarely in rushlands and wet meadows. . A caespitose grass with dimorphic spikes (one masculine and various females). The utricles are triagonal, glabrous and have a beak. The spikes fructifying spikes are typically dense. Can e distinguished from other taxons of the group of C. flava (of which it is very closely related) by its curved utricles and beaks, and globulous female spikes with long peduncles.
