Characteristics: A small annual herb, very compact with ascendant stems (up to 20 cm.) and reddish in colour. The leaves are opposite and within the same stem, very close to one another so that the internodes are scarcely visible. The stipules are setate and united at the leaf. Flowers are united in spiciforme inflorescences.
