Characteristics: Like all of the genus Medicago this herb plant has a legume that forms a spiral; in this case a very compact spiral, with the characteristic ovate form, almost a centimetre in diameter, which distinguishes it from the rest of the species of this genus, as these have a legume more or less cylindrical in shape. Spirals have few or no teeth. Lives herb lands, often on wet soils. Flowers in spring, from March to June.
